In 2010, Bill Westerhof contacted the Community Foundation and voiced his concern about how many children were coming to school hungry on Monday mornings. This conversation started the Friday Food for Kids program.
Bill and his wife, Jeanne, are both teachers at Belle River Elementary School. Because of the Friday Food for Kids program, they now see children coming to school on Monday focused and ready to learn. Bill also oversees the school store which helps fund the Belle River Friday Food for Kids program.
Bill and Jeanne not only serve as volunteers for Friday Food, they also donate to the program each year. Thank you Bill and Jeanne for all you do!
