Women’s Initiative Announce Grants

Posted on August 5, 2013

The Women’s Initiative awarded over $13,000 in grants to support early childhood education at their meeting last week.

They partnered with the Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council to provide a $15,000 grant to His Life Foundation (soon to be Literacy & Beyond) to support their efforts at enhancing reading & math proficiency and achievement at some of the elementary schools in the PHASD.

They are also offering the public a $1,200 matching challenge to raise money for the Friday Food program at Belle River Elementary School.  Friday Food provides almost 100 students at Belle River with a backpack full of food every Friday during the school year.  Your gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar until Sept. 23rd.

And finally, they approved a $5,000 grant to cover costs to support the Cleveland Elementary Summer Success Program at SC4!
